The New York Center for Living Young Adult program is an abstinence based treatment program for the 18-30 year old afflicted with substance use and/or addiction. The primary focus of the Young Adult program is to address the specific needs of the individual during this transitional age with an emphasis on establishing a positive social network of peers, building self-esteem and confidence, identifying educational goals, and preparing for the work force. Like the Adolescent program, this process takes place through individual, group, and family sessions, allowing for an overall experience of improvement across all domains of life.
At the Center for Living, we understand the importance of individuation at this time in one’s life, and work closely with the 18-30 year old to ensure this process happens in the healthiest and safest way possible. Through the identification of stressors, triggers, and maladaptive coping skills, the individual will proactively address these issues with clinical and peer support so they can develop a new set of skills to navigate early adulthood. Through the Center for Living and sobriety, the young adult can give themselves the chance they deserve to grow into adulthood with confidence and understanding of who they are, and how to achieve the goals they have set.
