The Challenge of Co-Occurring Disorders – Eating Disorders, Substance Abuse and Trauma

New York Center for Living is excited to partner with Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center to present “The Challenge of Co-Occurring Disorders – Eating Disorders, Substance Abuse and Trauma”, presented by Johnny Williamson, MD, Medical Director and Brooke Mathewes, LCPC, Med, RCC, CCC, both of Timberline Knolls.
Timberline Knolls has helped thousands of women facing eating disorders, addiction, and mood disorders. As a nationally recognized treatment center, they strive to provide innovative care. Dr. Williamson is board certified in General Psychiatry, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Ms. Mathewes has worked for a number of years as a therapist, consultant and supervisor and is also certified trainer in Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT).
Participants will learn to:
- Cite key factors in treating co-occurring trauma, eating disorder, and substance issues
- Identify the bio-psychosocial effects of trauma and how it relates to eating disorders and substance abuse
- Examine a case study that highlights the challenges, contra-indications, and indications of a residential client with these co-occurring disorders
2 CEU’s are offered for LMSW/LCSW & CASAC’s. A light breakfast will be provided.
