The Practical Application of EMDR and Brainspotting in an Inpatient Addiction Treatment Setting
March 21 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm
New York Center for Living is excited to partner with Seabrook in New Jersey to present “The Practical Application of EMDR and Brainspotting in an Inpatient Addiction Treatment Setting”, presented by George Koren, M.Ed., CCDP. CCS, LPC, LCADC Specialty Therapist at Seabrook.
Seabrook® believes community, continuity and structure are essential to reaching a recovery fulfillment. Addiction is not curable, so rehab becomes a lifelong journey requiring discipline, vigilance and family support. George Koren has worked in the counseling field for over four decades treating patients, clients and families with substance use disorders. Over the past 17+ years at Seabrook he has treated over 600 substance dependent patients for trauma, grief, and anxiety utilizing EMDR. Since 2010, he has been utilizing Brainspotting with even greater patient numbers and has been Certified in Brainspotting.
Participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate a basic general knowledge of EMDR and BSP
- Describe how EMDR and BSP can be used as an adjunct therapy in an inpatient addiction treatment program
- Discuss the range of issues which can be addressed with EMDR and BSP in an inpatient addiction population and otherwise
- Appropriately refer patients for EMDR and BSP
*2 CEU’s are offered for LMSW/LCSW & CASAC’s. A light breakfast will be provided.
